These posters were put up in Haryana’s Sonipat district during the elections held in April. The strange thing about the posters is that the photo of the election candidate is small in one corner of the poster and the photo of the person asking for votes for the candidate is big.
This photo is of none other than the same murderer Kannu Chikkar who announced to kill the entire village. After his announcement, he has killed 4 people so far.
Ajay alias Kannu was a resident of Karewadi village in Sonipat. His brother Sanjay contested the sarpanch election in Karewadi village. Kannu wanted to win the election by scaring the villagers, but the rogue’s brother did not get votes. Because of this, Sanjay lost the election by 45 votes. After the electoral defeat, the rogue Kannu’s brother Sanjay and father died in a road accident.
To take revenge for the electoral defeat, Kannu started committing murders. Kannu wanted to kill 45 people of the village. After this, Kannu started attacking the villagers. First he shot at the village sarpanch, but he survived.
On 9 May 2016, he shot at two youths named Virendra and Sunil. Both Virendra and Sunil died in this.
On 12 May 2016, Jagbir and his son Anil were shot dead. Kannu was targeting those people who did not support him in the elections. It is worth mentioning that the police had first announced a reward of 50 thousand in the case of double murder within 4 days and then increased it to 5 lakhs. Despite this, the police did not get any response.
Kannu’s terror had spread so much in the village that no villager was talking to each other. Everyone was afraid that if they opened their mouth, they might have to be shot.
The villagers were so scared that no one even went to the school to see the 12th exam results declared on Wednesday, 18 May. The streets were deserted, only policemen were seen at the squares and intersections.
Then in June, Kannu was killed in an encounter by the police in Bhatinda. Even after the news of Kannu’s death, people were so afraid of him that they were still afraid to talk about him. Even after receiving the news of Ajay alias Kannu’s death in the encounter, the atmosphere of the village was not normal. There was a strange silence in the village.
The villagers were gathered at the Sarpanch’s house. They were glued to the news channel to confirm the news. Some elderly people were at Jagbir’s house, they were also talking only about Kannu. Apart from all this, not only Ajay alias Kannu’s house but even the street was deserted. The frightened people got some relief, but there was only one discussion among the people that until Ajay’s entire gang is caught by the police, any major incident can happen.
